Electroplating with genuine gold involves utilizing authentic gold as a material for the electroplating process, resulting in a layer of real gold on the surface of the accessories. In contrast, ordinary gold plating employs alternative agent materials to achieve a gold-like effect on the accessory's surface. Electroplated real gold jewelry exhibits superior surface brightness, color retention, and environmental friendliness for a duration of at least five months. Additionally, it offers anti-allergic properties. However, it is important to note that the cost of electroplating with real gold is typically more than ten times that of imitation gold, making it a choice predominantly reserved for middle and high-end jewelry.

In terms of durability, real gold plating demonstrates resistance to oxidation, ensuring a prolonged preservation period. Conversely, ordinary gold plating is more susceptible to oxidation in comparison to real gold plating, leading to a relatively shorter retention time.

Regarding maintenance, jewelry with real gold plating can be worn during bathing and water contact, but exposure to chemicals is not advisable. When not in use, it is recommended to clean and dry the jewelry for optimal upkeep.
